Leon M. Lafferty of Council Bluffs is visiting his uncle here, J.D. Lafferty.
From the Los Angeles , Miss Fay Maxson of Los Angeles married Robert H. Neely of Los Angeles recently. For the past 4 years, the groom has been director of schools in the province of Lacuna in the Philippine Islands. They were married McMichael at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Thomas McMichael at El Monte . They will live in the Philippines . The bride has been visiting in Milan .
McKee Patrick McKee died June 22nd at his home east of Milan on the River Road . He had resided here for about 10 years and leaves a wife and 4 children. The funeral was Saturday at the Coal Valley Presbyterian Church with burial in the Orion Cemetery .
Weaver Mrs. E.H. Weaver died Tuesday at the family home in Sears. She was born 7 June 1867 and married Joseph Busch in October, 1875. He died a few years ago. She married E.H. Weaver on 6 January 1904 and they had 1 child - Alnora. By her former husband, she leaves these children: Maerie, Goldie, Susie and James. The funeral was Wednesday with burial in the Dickson Cemetery .

C.E. Kyte has learned of the death of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Allie Kyte of Battle Creek , Michigan , wife of Charles E. Kyte. The funeral will be at Battle Creek . John Felix Kyte of Champaign , Illinois attended the funeral here. She is survived by several little sons.)

She is survived by her husband and 4 children: Willie, Eva, George, and Minnie. She was 33 years old. The funeral was Tuesday with burial in the Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island .
Mrs. Mary J. Kerr died August 1st at her home at the tollgate. She was born in Austin , Minnesota on 28 September 1869 and moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John ,Williams to Rock Island at the age of 3 years. She was educated in the 1st ward school. She married Newton Kerr on 20 November 1895 . She was a member of the Rock Island Baptist Church . She is survived by her husband, 2 children - Mildred aged 7 years and Margaret aged 5 years; by her parents, and by a sister Alice. The funeral was today with burial in the Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island .

Charles Baugh, aged 17 years, was killed in a fire at Cambridge , Henry County . His funeral was Monday.

E. Anderson of Coldwater , Michigan is here visiting his niece, Mrs. S.W. Sutton. Mr. Anderson will also visit his sister, Mrs. A. Sanders in Galesburg and will then visit his brother in Chicago . Dr. Joseph Huyett died October 6th in Milan . He was born in Huntington County near the town of Alexandria , Pennsylvania on a farm, on 11 September 1820 . He was the youngest of a large family, all of whom are dec'd except for a sister, Mrs. Cathrine Patton of Washington DC . The dec'd was first a store clerk and then entered Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia and graduated In 1843. In 1844, after beginning a practice at Williamsburg , Pennsylvania , he married Miss Harriet L., daughter of Judge Joseph Adams of Williamsburg . They came to Illinois In 1848 and at first lived on the government island. The following spring, they came to Camden Mills (now Milan), living in the house on Dlckson Street opposite what is known as the Bradley place, until 1872, when he built the home where he has lived for the last 33 years. They were the parents of 7 children, 5 of whom survive: Mrs. Mary C. Moorhead Monmouth, Warren County ; Mrs. Elizabeth G. Sears of Milan ; Mrs. Anna A. Crisswell of Joy; Mrs. Clara A. Sydnor who has lived on the home place for the last 5 years; and Dr. Joseph Herman Huyett of Rock Island . Mrs. Huyett died In April, 1898. There are 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The deceased was a Civil War veteran, serving as a surgeon with the 93rd Ills Infantry. The funeral was Monday with burial in the Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island . His 3 sons-in-law were Geo. W. Sears, Dr. Matthew Crisswell, and Geo. R. Sydnor. 2 grandsons are Dr. W.W. Moorhead of Aledo and Jos. H. Moorhead of Milan . His nephew Is Jos. A. Mclaughlin of Geneseo, Henry County . George H. Adams of Latrobe , Pennsylvania is his nephew.

The funeral was at the Baptist Church with burial in the Andalusia Cemetery . Mabel Edna, daughter of Wn and Mary L. Daxon died October 5th at the home of her parents, east of Andalusia aged 14 years 8 months 13 days. She was born in Rural tnp where she spent the first 2 years of her life. The funeral was October 7th at the Baptist Church in Andalusia . She was a member of the Baptist Sunday School. Burial was in the Andalusia Cemetery . She is survived by her parents, 3 sisters - Louise, Anna and Lila; and by a brother Dan who is in Hillyard , Washington .

Martin Walker, a former lumber leader in Reynolds, died Friday, aged 80 years. Burial was in Vermont
Mrs. John Murphy died Monday at Edgington aged 48 years. She was born in Henry County and she and her husband formerly lived near Carbon Cliff. They moved to Edgington 3 years ago. She is survived by her husband and 6 small children. The funeral was Wednesday with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Rock Island .
Bernice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Johnston of Reynolds, died Thursday.
Joseph Graham died Friday at his home in Rock Island , 700 4th Street aged over 80 years. He was born in Ireland in 1836 and came to this country about 50 years ago. He was a farmer for many years. His wife, Mrs. Anna Graham, died 23 March 1904 . Their surviving children are 2 sons: James Graham of Rock Island and John Graham of Viola, Mercer County . There are also 2 surviving sisters Mrs. Margaret Armstrong and Mrs. Eliza Sandusky, both of Rock Island . The funeral was Sunday with burial in the Wood Cemetery , east of the Orangeman's picnic grounds near Pre-emption.

Harold Alfred, son of Edwin W. Tack now of Milan and formerly of 744 14 11 Street, Rock Island, died Sunday at the home Mrs. Joseph Bradley on 6th Street in Milan, aged 1 year 2 months. He is survived by his parents, 2 sistesr and 1 brother. He was a twin of his little sister, Helen Alice, who survives. The funeral was Tuesday with burial in the Dickson burial ground.
Hider Bodine who had recently been living in Kewanee, Henry County was found dead Friday on the farm of Ira Kelsie near Annawan,
Henry County . He was aged between 45-50 years. It is believed he has a wife and child in Creston , Iowa .

ORION, Henry County : Sanford Lawson married Miss Gertrude Wilkins last Thursday in Rock Island . The bride is a former resident of Orion. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Lawson of Orion and has always lived in Orion.

Simeon Minnie, wife of Ferry Simeon, died April 11th. She is survived by her husband, a 3-year old daughter, her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Brown and by a brother George. She joined the Presbyterian Church 8 years ago. The funeral was Sunday with burial in the Beulah Cemetery. Minnie Brown was born 12 February 1883 in Milan and married Perry L. Simeon on 16 January 1901.

Mrs. Laura J. Conway, a longtime resident of Rock Island, died Thursday at St. Louis at the home of Capt. James J. Park. She was the wife of Joseph Conway dec'd who was at one time county clerk of Rock Island County. She is survived by 3 children - George M. Conway of Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. James J. Parks (sic) of St. Louis; Donaldson and Mrs. L.J. Donaldson of Chicago. One child, Mr. F. Conway, is dec'd. The funeral was Saturday at the Broadway Presbyterian Church in Rock Island.

The mother of Ira White of Blackhawk died today at her home in LeClaire, Scott Co., Iowa .
Mrs. Roxana Willhite died May 6th at her home. Roxana Stewart was born 7 July 1843 at Bethlehem , Pennsylvania . In 1860, she came to Barnett Illinois with the family of James Barnett and has lived in this vicinity ever since. She married John Willhite on 18 March 1869 he died in May, 1901. They had 7 children (one died in infancy): Thomas Willhite of Moline ; Walter Willhite and Frank Willhite of Rock Island ; Joe Willhite of Momence; Harry Willhite and Mrs. Wm Goben Goben of Milan. Burial was Tuesday in the Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island . Noda Willhite of Rock Island is her stepson. She is also survived by a sister in Pennsylvania . 4 daughters and 3 sons of Mr. Willhite also survive. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Willhite and daughter Sylvia of Muscatine, Iowa and Hr. and Mrs. Chas. Willhite of South Rock Island attended the funeral.

BLACKHAWK: Fritz Shoalts, who stayed for many years at Fred Liekefetts, died May 11th at the county infirmary, aged 77 years.

John Stadler died this week on the Drury farm, located 2 miles southeast of Milan and rented by John Cox where he was employed. He was 27 years old and was a brother of Mrs. John Sievers.
David Walsh, a resident of Blackhawk township in this county for 45 years, died Friday at his home on the county infirmary road, aged 73 years. Fie is survived by 5 children: irs. Anna Pearson of pock Island; Mrs. James McQuaid of Milan; Mrs. Margaret Prentice of Chicago; Mrs. J.M. Pryce of Coal Valley; and John Walsh at home. A sister, Mrs. Anna Sheehey, resides in Davenport, Iowa. For many years, he operated a coal mine on his property. He moved to this county at an early age from Ireland, where he was horn. Pe first settled in Pennsylvania and was then one of the 49ers to California, having made the voyage around the horn. Pe then returned to Ireland where he remained for a few years, before coming to Rock Island County where he has since lived. The funeral was Sunday at Ft. Joseph's Church in Rock Island, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery there.

The Rev. Frank W. Hoover, pastor of the Sherrard Congregational Church, drowned in a pond northeast of the Coal Valley Mining Company's shaft on Tuesday. he had been in charge of the Sherrard Church for 2 years. He was 35 years old and leaves a wife and 2 children in Peoria. |
Dr. D.J. Chinn of Bettendorf, Iowa, formerly of Milan, will soon move to New Mexico to live.
Harr Lewis of Grinnell, Iowa is visiting his sister, Mrs. Amos Pitman of Pre-emption, Mercer County. His parents at one time owned and lived on the farm that Charles McMichael now lives on.

ANDALUSIA: Susan C. Smith, widow of Ashabel Smith, late of Independent Battery E., Pennsylvania Light Artillery, has been granted a pension.
Mrs. Fred Kuehl died Tuesday. She was born Anna Katherine Timmerman on 24 March 1857 in Moline and married Fred Kuehl on 22 October 1874. After their marriage, they settled in Milan and resided here for 26 years. They had 9 children - a son Anson died 2 September 1905 and a daughter died a number of years ago. The surviving children are William Kuehl of Chicago; Arthur Kuehl of Sacramento, California; Lester Kuehl of Rock Island; Noble and Miss Emma Kuehl at home. The funeral was today with burial in the Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island.
