Ashley Swithouse, aged 19 years, shot himself on Wednesday at his home near Hamlet, Mercer County . (February 25th issue: the funerral was at the Presbyterian Church with burial in the Hamlet Cemetery . He is survived by his father, 2 brothers and 1 sister. His mother died some years ago.)

Mrs. James R. Hutchinson, nee Long, died Wednesday at her home in Bowling township.

Mrs. Henry Wilson, nee Miss Emma Hoefle, died February 9th at her home, 1 mile north of Pre-emption. The funeral was Thursday with burial in the Little Cemetery beside her infant daughter who died a week ago. She married Mr. Wilson in March, 1902 and was aged 22 years. She is survived by her husband, her parents Mr. and Mrs. George Hoefle of Sherrard; and by 4 brothers -George, Fred, Chas. and Paul Hoefle; and by 3 sisters: Mrs. Mary Johnson of Cable, Mercer County; Mrs. N.W. Vanderslice of Milan and Kate Hoefle at home.

Judge E.E. Parmenter has learned of the death of his aunt, Mrs. Margaret McGrew on Monday at her home in West Branch, Iowa aged 84 years. She was born in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania and came to Rock Island County with her parents as a child, being one of the early settlers here. She married A.L. McGrew at Illinois City in 1839 and they settled on a farm in Buffalo Prairie tnp where they lived until 20 years ago when they moved to West Branch. Her husband died several years ago. She is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters - Simon McGrew of Pasadena , California ; Logan McGrew of Gilman , Iowa ; Mrs. Maggie Faucet and Miss Bell McGrew of West Branch, Iowa ; and Mrs. Nancy Thompson of Pasadena , Calif. She is also survived by 2 sisters and 1 brother: Mrs. Sarah Vanatta of Reynolds , Iowa (sic?) and Mrs. Eunice Moorehead of Woonsocket , S. Dakota; and James Robbins of Unionville , Mo.

Miss Katherine M. Normoyle was an attendant. Those going to the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Jas. E. Normoyle of Philadelphia , and RD Normoyle of Rural, Rock Island County . Miss Nan Normoyle is the youngest sister of the bride. They will live at Shelbyville.

RIDGEWOOD: Mrs. John Bodleson who has been a resident in Ridgewood for more than 30 years, died last Thursday at her home in Rock Island where she has resided for only 3 weeks. The funeral. vas at the Swedish Baptist Church in Rock Island , with burial in — the Chippiannock Cemetery . She is survived by her husband and by a daughter.

ANDALUSIA : The little daughter of Cilbert Lancaster died Sunday Nicewarner at the home of Alonzo Nicewarner.

Fredrick Kollmann died Wednesday at his home in Rapids City aced 76 Rettig years. He was the father of Mrs. Eenry Rettig of Milan .

Judge John J. Glenn of Monmouth, Warren County was buried Monday aged 74 years. He died last Thursday; he was an elder in the Presbyterian Church.

The funeral of William O'Day of Viola, Mercer County was Monday with burial in the Chippiannock Cemetery , Rock Island .

Mrs. Wm Crawford died today at her home in Pre-emption, Mercer County aged 49 years. She was born in Moline and was married there in 1875. She has been a resident of Pre-emption for 6 years. 8 children survive - all at home except one.

A.L. Buck died last Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs.Dunker at Lincoln , Nebraska aged about 86 years. His wife died 4 years ago. Burial was at Humboldt , Iowa beside his wife. He is survived by 2 sons - Lemuel Buck at Bradgate, Iowa and Taylor Buck in New York City ; and by 2 daughters living at Lincoln, Nebr. He was married in Camden , now Milan , in 1846 and lived here for many years. He was a mason by trade. His children were born here. His wife was a daughter of D. Pinkley and her brothers still live in Milan .

Mrs. Dorothy Trittle of Blackhawk township died Tuesday at her home. Her husband, an aged German man, has been declared insane. She was born 5 September 1829 in Germany and was aged 75 yearsJold. She had been a resident of Illinois for 33 years. The remains were taken to Rock Island .

Sgt. Peter Lorenzen of the U.S. Army retired, died Monday in Sears aged 70 years. He came to the Rock Island Arsenal 10 years ago and retired 5 years ago. He is survived by his wife and 5 children, all at the home in Sears. Burial was in the National Cemetery in Rock Island , on Wednesday.

John B. Steckman married Miss Jessie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Fitzsimmons of Milan on Tuesday, in Rock Island .

James Griffin of Milan died Sunday at his home. He was born on Big Island and would have been 55 years old on April 17th. He lived on Big Island for a long time and then moved to Milan some years ago. He was a bachelor and was a hunter, trapper and vegetable truck farmer by trade. He is survived by his twin sister, Mrs. Mary Whorton and by his brother George Griffin of Milan and brother Joshua Griffin of Andalusia . The funeral was Tuesday with burial in the Dickson burial grounds.

BOWLING: Miss Clara Breadon is visiting her sister, Mrs. Bruce Taylor at Eldon , Iowa .

REYNOLDS: Mr. Grey was buried Sunday in the Reynolds Cemetery . The funeral was at the M.E. Church . He is survived by a son George of Hamlet and by a sister, Mrs. Clay Moore of Reynolds.

Lee Montgomery died Sunday at Longmount (sic), Colorado . He left here February 8th for a business trip to Colorado The funeral was here yesterday. He was aged 28 years and came here about 6 years ago. He was married 3 years ago to Miss Grace Boyles. He is survived by his wife. (from the Chamberlain REGISTER).

Zora, 1 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Davis died Saturday at Roden, Mercer County after drinking poison. The funeral was Monday with burial in the Boden Cemetery . Mrs. Davis is the former Miss Sadie Brasher, daughter of John Brasher. She formerly lived east of the campgrounds.

ANDALUSIA : Milton Buffum died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Seifeldt--- Frank Seifeldt on March 8th, aged 74 years. He is survived by his wife, a son and 6 daughters.
