THE ROCK ISLAND & MERCER RAILROAD

In May, 1876, the Rock Island & Mercer Railroad was organized under the general law, and was built between that date and the first of December of the same year. It passes through Rock Island, Black Hawk, Bowling and Edgington townships, and its stations in Rock Island county are: Rock Island, Milan, Taylor Ridge and Reynolds. It is now a part of the Rock Island system.
