Shirley J. Ludwig, 28, of 801 42nd Ave. , Rock Island , died at 5 p.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Hospital following a one week illness. Miss Ludwig was born Sept. 5, 1928 , in Rock Island , daughter of Edward and Louise Ludwig. She was a life-resident of Rock Island , attended schools there and was employed by the Servus Rubber Co.

She was a member of the Gloria Dei United Presbyterian Church, treasurer of the Faith Circle of that church and superintendent of the Cradle Roll.

Surviving are her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Delores Goold and Mrs. Marcella Miller, both of Rock Island ; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson of Rock Island , two nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Hodgson funeral home. The Rev. Melvin Suttie will officiate and burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens . Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
