Rock Island Arts and Entertainment District

 

. The District, as locals call it , is the cultural and nightlife heart of the Quad Cities. This downtown pedestrian-only area spans several blocks (from Fourth to First Avenue ) and boasts several cool bars, dance clubs and live music venues, making it extremely popular with the area's college crowd.

Not just a party scene, the District also provides the setting for several small coffee houses that host frequent poetry readings, the Quad City Art Centre, and neat little specialty shops. In the warmer months, the District hosts several music and art festivals.
