VELMA SISCO (Fisher)

Funeral services for Velma P. Sisco, 75, of 1906 1st St. , Rock Island, who died Sunday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island . The Rev. Kenneth Kuenning, pastor of the Church of Peace United Church of Christ, will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery , Rock Island . Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Pallbearers will be Francis Glidewell, Ronald, Bruce, Robert and Richard Rosenbaum, and Paul Sisco. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Sisco and Kurtis Simmons.

The former Velma Fisher was born Sept. 10, 1909 , in Des Moines , Iowa , daughter of Harry and Ethel Fox Fisher. She came to Rock Island in 1934. She was married to Clifford Sisco Nov. 9, 1935 , in Aledo. he died July 11, 1974 . Mrs. Sisco was a former member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 168.

Surviving are three daughters, Darlene Dunn and Florence Jinks, both of Rock Island , and Dorothy Simmons of Preemption; four sons, Harold and Harry, both of Rock Island , Calvin of Dublin , Calif. , and Clarence of Ambler, Pa. ; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clara German, Esther Dalton and Dorothy Jeffery, all of Des Moines , and a brother Daniel Fisher in Missouri .
