Laura - Weldon P. "Nub" Riggen, 67, of 19111 N.
Route 78 died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 1995, at his residence. Born Aug. 7,
1927, in rural Laura to Thomas A. and Wilna G. Catton Riggen, he married Sally
A. Campon Aug 15, 1980, in West Jersey. She survives.
Also surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Williams and Mrs. Doug (Joyce) Bishop, both of
Spring Bay; four stepdaughters, Tina Wilkins of South Dakota, Mrs. Thomas of
Lacon, Mrs. Joe (Nancy) Newell of Chillicothe and Mrs. Jeff (Betty) Reason of
West Jersey; one stepson, Perry Camp Jr. of Dunlap; one sister, Mrs. Leland
(Marcia) Whittaker of Princeville; one foster sister, Myrna Kelley of Galesburg;
23 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. One son, Tom Riggen; one
daughter, Cheri Riggen; and two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a heavy equipment
operator for 34 years working out of Operating Engineers Local 649, retiring in
1989. He was Millbrook Township Road Commissioner for 6 1/2 years until December
1994. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home in
Princeville. The Rev. Rick Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to
8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a fund
set up to help defray his medical expenses.
