H., Sept. 13, 1804; located in this Co. in June, 1835, and is one of the oldest settlers now living; Mr. T. was the first regular Ferryman on Rock river, at Rockford, has remained here ever since, and has seen Winnebago Co. grow to be one of the finest in the state of Illinois; has 140 acres, valued at $8,400; married Jane Sovereign, April 13, 1843; she was born in Canada, Jan. 2, 1821; she died Oct. 18, 1864; they have four children living, and lost four.
