WINNEBAGO SHARPSHOOTERS

In September. 1861, Wesley Boyd organized a company, called the Winnebago Sharpshooters, of which he became captain. In October the com­pany went into camp at Camp Geneva, and became Company E, of the Fifty-second Infantry. The total number of enlistments in this company from this county, including veterans and recruits, was ninety-eight.

There was only one volunteer in Company F. The regiment was organized at Geneva. Kane county, by the Hon. Isaac G. Wilson, who was for many years a judge upon the circuit bench
