Charles H. Tanton and Esther A. Mundell

One of the greatest weddings ever solemnized in Woodford county took place at Cazenovia on Thursday at high noon at the Baptist church of that place, the Bride and groom being two of the wealthiest and most respected citizens of that vicinity. They were Mr. Charles H. Tanton and Miss Esther A. Mundell. About 500 guests were invited and about 400 witnessed the ceremony. They were from all parts of Woodford county; some from California, Kansas, Colorado, and various other states being represented.

The bride was dressed in a beautiful dress of cream colored satin and lace and wore a veil and wreath, and the two maids of honor of honor wore dresses of white mull. The bridesmaid was miss Tanton and the groomsman was Mr. Mundell. Directly after the ceremony an abundant and elegant lunch was served at the church. Over an hour was spent in receiving the congratulations of their many friends and neighbors. The presents were very handsome and numerous. The groom is one of the wealthiest men in Woodford county and is favorably thought of by all, while the bride has been a prominent church worker there for a number of years and has also been superintendent of the Sunday school. They have the best wishes of all for their future happiness and prosperity.

[Note: Esther Ann Mundell was the daughter of Samuel and Ruth (Babb) Mundell. 

Charles H. Tanton was the  son of Richard and Elizabeth Tanton.

Esther was the Aunt of my husband's Grandfather,  Jesse Alma Mundell]

[ Note: After Johann August Volk's death, Theresia Grebner Volk married her husband's cousin, Charles Volk, April 14, 1898 in Peoria, Illinois. It was a second marriage for both. His parents were Joseph and Theresia Volk. Charles Volk was married three times.]
