Elizabeth S. "Betty" Nauman age 82 formerly of Metamora passed away at 1:42pm Wednesday April 9, 2008 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. She was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Metamora to Herman J. and Emma (Koenig) Rohman. She married Herman A. Nauman Oct. 18, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora. He died Sept. 23, 2004.

Surviving are One daughter Marjorie and David Judson of Galesburg and one son Thomas and Katherine Nauman of North Little Rock Arkansas. Grandchildren Scott, Sarah, Mellissa, Michael and Steven Nauman and Mary Elizabeth Judson, and three great grandchildren. Four sisters Hilda and Donald Harbers and Ruth and Robert Garber both Metamora. Dorothy Weisenberger of Peoria and Patricia and Duane Quiram of Princeton Illinois. One brother Richard and Kay Rohman of Washington. Sister-in-law Lorraine Rohman of Metamora. Preceded by three brothers Herman "Boops" Rohman and Robert and Frank Rohman.

Betty started out working as a Dept. Secretary at Caterpillar then became a bookkeeper working with the the Village of Metamora, Metamora Garage, and Emergency 116. Past Chairman of Woodford County Housing Authority. Member of American Legion Auxiliary. Original Committee member that started Metamora Swimming pool. Was active in many community projects .Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society.

A Funeral mass will be at 10:00 Monday April 14, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora. The Father John Verrier officiating. Visitation will be from 3pm unti 6pm Sunday at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora.

CHENOA -- Rosalene "Rose" Mary Noll, 77, of Chenoa, formerly of Benson and Gridley, died 8:15 p.m. Friday (Dec. 8, 2000) at Meadows Mennonite Home, Meadows.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, the Rev. Robert Adelsperger II officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour before the service Monday.

Memorials may be made to Meadows Mennonite Home or Chenoa Baptist Church.

She was born July 9, 1923, at Benson, a daughter of John and Lena Johnson Smilie. She married Allen Lee Noll on July 2, 1942, at Palmyra, Mo. He died Dec. 21, 1983.

Survivors include one daughter, Marge (Jim) Todd, Chenoa; one son, Jerry (Debra) Noll, Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Ruby (Dave) Robenstein, Secor; and Ruth (Paul) Jording, El Paso; and one brother, Jack Smilie, Roanoke.

Other survivors include six grandchildren, Mike (Christie) Todd, Dan (Charmin) Todd, Alonzo (Amie) Noll, Jonathan Noll, Darrell Noll, Nathan Noll; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nathan Todd, and Gavin Noll.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and one sister.

She graduated from Benson High School. She was a homemaker.

El Paso - Mrs. Esther North, 72, a lifetime resident of El Paso, died at 3:35 p.m. Friday in Brokaw Hospital, Normal, where she had been a patient for five days.

She was brought to the Vincent Memorial Home in El Paso, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev Jack B. North of Peoria officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the memorial home.

She was born July 23, 1883, at Kappa, the daughter of Richard and Clara Alberry Grant. She married Edmund North Sept. 8, 1903, in Bloomington. He died Dec. 26, 1939. She had done practical nursing for a number of years.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Omer Arbogast and Mrs. Leo Roberts, both of El Paso; five sisters, Mrs. Elmina Scarborough and Mrs. Florence White, both of Champaign; Mrs. Marie Rush, Morris; Mrs. Lucille Fry, Cooksville and Mrs. Rena Forrest, Arrowsmith; and a grandson. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

She was a member of the El Paso Methodist Church and the auxiliary of El Paso Post No. 59, American Legion.
